In this installation, we dive into post-product care and share some tips on how you can keep your tools in top condition.

Cloths and Microfiber Towels

Cloths and microfiber towels can trap dirt, grease and bacteria from the various surfaces it’s been in contact with. A thorough clean will leave them good as new for the next use.

How to Clean:

  1. Submerge them in a basin filled with warm water and small amounts of mild detergent or disinfectant solution.
  2. Gently rub them out with your hands to lift any dirt or oils trapped on the cloths.
  3. Let them soak for about 15 minutes before massaging the material to loosen any grime.
  4. Rinse thoroughly, wring them out and air dry preferably in direct sunlight.

For Deeper Cleans:

  • Soak them in solution of water and bleach or to add baking soda to cloths in normal cleaning process

Sponges

Sponges can easily become a breeding ground for germs considering their porous nature which traps particles, grease and bacteria.

How to Clean:

  1. Submerge and soak in a basin filled with warm water and small amounts of mild detergent or disinfectant solution.
  2. Let them soak for about 15 minutes and massage to loosen any grime.
  3. Rinse thoroughly, squeeze dry the sponge and let it air dry preferably in direct sunlight.

For Deeper Cleans:

  • Bring a pot of water to boil, submerge the sponge and let it boil for at least 5 minutes to kill bacteria and germs. Remove sponge carefully, squeeze dry and let it air dry completely. (Please note to use appropriate tools to handle sponge as it will be hot.)

For an extra oomph to the washing, consider installing a laundry basin in your common bathroom or service yard to act as a little helper in this cleaning journey! The corrugated surface of the basin helps to get the grime and oils loose, making it an easier clean.
